Fellow Veterans and Friends of Veterans:
I have attached (see below) an updated summary of the incredible and incredulous hijacking of a recent public Veterans meeting by the Dept. of Veterans Affairs and the Los Angeles Veterans Advisory Commission so that two private, non-profit developers could hijack seven acres of Veterans property and two medical buildings at the Sepulveda VA — for a $1 a year for 75 years.
The eight Commissioners who voted for this giveaway of Veterans’ land are all Veterans.
One is a Brigadier General in the U.S. Army Reserve. The Executive Director who helped orchestrate the hijacking of the meeting that set up the scandalous vote is a retired Colonel of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Not only disgraceful and embarrassing, it is traitorous.
Let us not forget that Benedict Arnold was a General who tried to surrender West Point , a strategic military base during the Revolutionary War, but failed.
Now, during the Veterans Revolution, a General has assisted in the surrendering of a strategic Veterans hospital and medical facilities.
As we all know, the VA surrendered 16 acres of land at the strategic National Veterans Home for a public park, along with other misappropriation of Veterans land.
This Brigadier General is also the new Commanding General of the Army Reserve Center that is on 10 acres of Veterans’ land at corner of Wilshire and Federal, and across the street from the proposed public park. His Army Reserve command has declared itself to be a “supporter” of the Veterans Park Conservancy on VPC's website.
C.S. Lewis forewarned: “We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst.”
Are you going to sit back and watch more Veterans’ land pillaged and plundered under your watch by the largest Veterans organization in the USA — the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.
Veterans need to unite in solidarity and fight back.
All VOS's need to take immediate action because the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans both had no-nonsense resolutions opposing the non-profit developers' project, representing the memberships of more than 2.5 million Veterans.
Yet eight politically appointed Veterans voted against millions of America's Veterans in favor of two private, non-profit developers.
In addition, there were 15 Neighborhood Councils in the San Fernando Valley representing more than 700,000 residents that seriously oppose this conversion of the Veterans’ medical facilities into luxury housing.
While America's Veterans have grown accustomed to the corruption of VA bureaucrats, sleazy politicians, and greedy non-profit special-interest groups in the confiscation of Veterans’ property at the Veterans Home in West L.A., they are unforgiving when a few Veterans abuse the greater good of the vast majority of Veterans, or any single Veteran for that matter.
While Memorial Day will be upon us in 72 hours, we can never forget May 12, 2010.
Read the attached article and demand the resignation of the eight Commissioners and the Executive Director.
