Catching up with Karen Gibbs, Marketing Chair for Fiesta La Ballona, and Randy Arizmendiz, Committee Co-Chair, last week at the Staples Center where they attended a Sparks basketball game.
I have been attending Culver City’s Fiesta La Ballona, our Party in the Park, for over 30 years.
Now that my two daughters are older, I wanted to volunteer for our community.
So I volunteered for this year’s Fiesta La Ballona Committee.
I have completely enjoyed chairing the Marketing Subcommittee with Mike King, Marcus Tiggs, Bill Wynn and Steve Hadland.
Working with the city staff has been a fantastic experience.
I already am looking forward to 2014.
I hope many of your readers will try to come out to Fiesta La Ballona this weekend, Friday evening, all day Saturday and all day Sunday at Vets Park, intersection of Culver Boulevard and Overland Avenue.
The weekend will feature carnival rides and games, live performances, more than 100 booths – featuring artisan wares, vendors and local groups, a petting zoo, pony rides, a beer and wine garden, food trucks, a food court, sustainability activities, and other special contests and events.
