A Low and a High
Synthesizing the darkest and highest moments available to an aspiring politician, Mr. OLeary announced this afternoon that he will spend the weekend in seclusion with his in-laws.
His father-in-law died this week, and it was an unusually painful death for the candidate and for his wife Susan.
Mrs. OLeary has been at the bedside of her father nightly in Loma Linda for the past month.
When He Was Dying
He suffered so much at the end, Mr. OLeary said. He was off of food and water for the last two weeks.
Viewing hours at the mortuary will be Saturday and Sunday, and the funeral will be at 10 on Sunday morning.
Instead of rushing to return to Culver City to make an appearance at the campaign kickoff, Mr. OLeary said emphatically he will mourn with his family.
