You were going to let me STEW in my own juices.

You were going to let me look in a mirror, or have someone else tell me what was amiss.

But,

Didn’t you realize that I would probably remember that it was YOU who let me down?

It was YOU who could have prevented my friend’s daughter from saying, "What’s that thing on your shirt?"

It was YOU who could have prevented everyone at the office from looking down at the floor when I approached with that thing hanging out of my nose.

It was YOU who could have saved me from Mrs. Rome’s moving away from me because I smelled like a garden full of skunks.

It was YOU who could have prevented my friend’s daughter from asking if I was growing a yellow goatee on my chin.

All I ask is that next time . . .

You treat me like you would like to be treated yourself . . .

And tell me, privately, if I might be the object of  undesirable "attention" . . .

Because, you never know . . .

I may one day see you with a condition you would give money to know about . . .

And wouldn’t you like to think that I could save you from embarrassment ?. . .

Just TELL ME, and TELL EVERYONE, and then you have increased the chances that Mr. or Ms. Everyone will tell YOU.

If you contact Mr. Ebsen at Robertebsen@hotmail.com, don’t say anything about what is on his chin. His wife may yet speak up. Mr. Ebsen is an optimist.
