My seat for this evening’s clownishly approached 6 o’clock Presidential debate will be at a book store in Leimert Park, and that reminds me of a story I have told you before about my days as night sports editor of the late Herald-Examiner in the early 1970s.
As you know, wrestling matches have been fixed since before any of us were born.
The Herald’s sports department had a special relationship with the owner of the Olympic Auditorium, site of the matches.
Since every late evening was a chaotic race toward the deadline at the newspaper, the Olympic courteously telephoned us in the afternoon with the results of the evening’s rasslin’ matches.
At my debate destination tonight, the outcome in that predominantly black setting will be as pre-ordained as the most lopsided match the Olympic ever staged – unless President Obama is truthful.
After 5½ years on the national stage, President Obama, masterly at cunning and deception, has followed the Olympic Aud’s historic lead. Always considerate of boys on deadline despite his own slovenliness, he has been telegraphing tonight’s outcome to his favorite sycophants in the media, and they have been dutiful stenographers.
A Taste of Dishonesty
The most immature, self-absorbed President since the Johnsons, Andy and Lyndon, has been telling his numerous comedy show and fundraising audiences that Mr. Romney is a superior debater and should beat him tonight. Then he goes home and Mad Michelle rinses his dishonest mouth with stale soap.
If every man in the room tonight were honest, he would tell you Swish’s blackness is the only reason he is voting for him, even though he is considerably worse off than he was four years ago
. As a recent convert in all cases, Swish advocates three high-profile policies that the traditional and contemporary black community stoutly opposes – gay marriage (remember how he “evolved” just in time for his re-election campaign?), abortion (another late evolution) and illegal immigration (another well-timed “shift” last spring).
How can a religious black rationalize a vote for Swish?
Finally, if you missed the end of the worst depression since Eve and Adam frolicked in suburban Syria, the professional liars at the Los Angeles Titanic announced on Page 1 this morning “Swing states looking up. Many are better off.”
By golly, that miracle worker in the White House truly is the Messiah. All hail the imam.
