Meghan Daum is not an unattractive woman, but definitely no head-turner. Neither am I, so we start even.
It nettles the Los Angeles Titanic’s Thursday op-ed essayist that in the last several years, virtually every Republican woman who has attracted — love that term — nationwide attention comes under the heading of Knockout Looker.
Democrat women, by contrast, are not allowed inside American zoos unescorted. They fear falling prey to recruiters. Even with makeup and a new wardrobe, these paunchy liberal doggies aren’t permitted on the grounds at Westminster without their masters, their blind husbands and short leashes.
The maniacal way the teeth-baring green-eyed liberal lady hounds of the media have lit out against beautiful Republican women would be a scandal that you could read about if only the left did not obsessively control all of the levers of power.
Maybe they all came from President Jimmah Carter’s hometown, Plains, GA.
Lessons from Conservative Powerhouses
Frustrated because she is not taken seriously, Ms. Daum probably could be if she borrowed a single quality from the conservatives she loves to spook — reflection. Instead of reflexively genuflecting at what her liberal big brothers trained her to regurgitate, she could become an adult member of the media if she practiced introspection and tried to develop a wee tiny sense of humor.
Like virtually every liberal I have known or read, she wads herself into a tightly constricted ball of steaming anger at the start of each day. She doesn’t even try to curtail her fulltime fumes until she climbs into the arms of Morpheus at bedtime.
Most of the time Ms. Daum writes about arcane subjects, of interest exclusively to fellow housewives who don’t get out much. For her latest essay, she took her lead from America’s leading purveyor of journalistic lynchings of non-liberals, especially pretty ones, The New York Times. Last Sunday, the bully-boy Times mockingly and hatefully roasted Michele Bachmann’s husband on Page 1 last Sunday morning. Why? Because the Times’s reporters live on a liberal farm where gays are allowed to sleep in the barn with sacred cows. All of God’s children are nasty victims of conservative philosophy, according to the Times. Sheryl Gay Stolberg, a hard left middle-aged woman who would lose a beauty contest to a mud fence, has become the Times’s girl character assassin of choice.
No Need to Go in Disguise
Not wishing to leave a teardrop of doubt about where they stand — as if daily stories in worship of gay bodies and beliefs is subtle — the Times surrounded the Stolberg assassination of the Bachmanns with four other stories celebrating gay men and women as the brave, sin-free heroes of our civilization.
The left reacts so impulsively violently when a religious candidate emerges, and then when it is a religious candidate who believes two male fireplugs should not be able to wed, they get so mad they start yanking the skin off their bodies. Liberals, as a group, hate religion, hate marriage, hate nearly all pillars of tradition, and typically are furious that they themselves even were born. Liberals love regulations, but only those that would confine and punish conservatives. They adore gays because they can stack their bodies atop their pile of Victims of Right-Wing Mankind.
Ms. Stolberg looks as meek as the Church Lady on Saturday Night Live a few years ago. Don’t be deceived. In a separate story, she made fun of Ms. Bachmann’s husband and other Christian therapists who work with gays to seek to alter their sexual orientation.
Ms. Stolberg audaciously presented her objective in each story, to portray husband and wife as looney extremists, threats to our country and miles to the right of the mainstream. What an honorable person Sheryl Gay is. All to satisfy her hard left thirst for conservative blood.
