Two-part harmony.
When foreign guests come to town, as they are now, Culver City Sister City Committee, Inc. spends time based in “edutainment.”

Top: Entire delegation of Sister City students visiting Culver City, from Uruapan, Mexico, Lethbridge, Canada, Iksan City, South Korea, with Culver City youths. Just below: Chaperones from Uruapan, Iksan City, Lethbridge, Culver City, flanked by the Culver City Program Manager Donna Thayer and Shauna Lewis from Sister City International. Center is Christine Ferreira, who chaperoned Culver City students in Uruapan. At bottom: Kids being kids.
The students from Iksan City visit every other year, and they have a general idea about how they will spend time in our city.
The Trilateral Youth Ambassador Program is completely focused on the environment and poverty this year after undergoing extremely rigorous selection process.
Twenty-two families have opened their homes to all of the Sister City visitors who have converged, coincidentally, during the same period.
Iksan City’s South Korean delegation and their Culver City “brothers and sisters” (and chaperones) started today with a guided walking tour of Sony Pictures Entertainment, followed by a special lunch at the Saki House, followed by a tour of the Police Dept., City Hall, the Fire Dept., and presently they are finishing up with a visit to the Farmer's Market.
The Trilateral Youth Ambassadors started their day today with a sustainability site visit to an NGO (non-governmental organization) Ballona Creek Renaissance and President Jim Lamm, Denny’s for lunch and a De-Brief Environment/Sustainability Workshop – Planning a Project – Resource Development, and then a trip up to the State Park/Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook/tour that will eventually end at City Hall.
We're so proud that this program exists.
