Unsurprisingly, no lesbians or gays were espied in the tiny crowd of disappointed supporters yesterday in Washington after the Supreme Court refused to hear a free speech case involving the American flag and Cinco de Mayo.
Since nationalism is the centerpiece of this odd scenario with a predictable denouement, you can guess, even before you awaken, on which side gays and the rest of the victim-centric left came down. Their advance people determined all of the “offending” students were straight. So who cares about their rights?
The thorny story unfolded in Morgan Hill five Cinco de Mayos ago. On May 5, a number of students wore shirts that bore images of the American flag to classes. According to the Los Angeles Times, a student (presumably not a Bulgarian) warned an assistant principal “there might be problems” if those darned Yankee students were allowed to remain on campus, provocatively dressed as they were.
The principal, quaking with courage, told the students to turn their shirts inside out or remove them.
All but two did. While playing the Star-Spangled Banner on his second-hand harmonica, the principal sent the boys home.
The nationalist sissies at the ardently hard left Times, upon learning the Supreme Court’s verdict, daubed their lips with red-white-purple lipstick, kissed the nearest picture of George Washington, and made the following astounding declaration in this morning’s lead editorial:
“To a Latino student – particularly an immigrant – an assertive display of the U.S. flag by a classmate on Cinco de Mayo might be offensive.”
Drenched in appalling ignorance, an unpardonable misunderstanding of history, oxygen-monopolizing insolence and arrogance, it richly explains demonstrates the left hates normative Americans. Except for themselves in all cases, of course, no person or belief is superior to any other in their “equality” driven little world.

In other left-wing news, The New York Times announced this morning that President Obama, with the heat off, finally can admit the truth. Their page 11 headline read: “Obama, Last Election Behind Him, Plans a First Visit to Kenya.”
