Veterans Picnic Is Tomorrow

Five chapters of the Vietnam Veterans of America are hosting the Veterans’ Grand Picnic Summer Celebration, on Saturday afternoon, from 12 noon to 4, on the Grand Lawn of the Los Angeles National Veterans Home.

The patriotic emcee will be Uncle Sam, and the festivities will be at 11301 Wilshire Blvd., just west of the 405 Freeway.

There will be a special tribute to World War II Veterans, our treasured heroes.

Hosting will be Chapter 47 of Riverside, Chapter 53 of the South Bay, Chapter 335 of Canyon Country, Chapter 446 of Pasadena and Chapter 756 of Long Beach.

Sponsors include: Mercedes-Benz of Beverly Hills, Martinelli’s Apple Juice and Lemonade, Whole Foods of Brentwood, San Gennaro Café of Brentwood, Barney’s Beanery of Westwood, Phil Liberatore, CPA, KABC Radio “Liberty Speaks,” Smart & Final, Stater Brothers Markets, California Veterans Benefit Fund, O.N.E. Coconut Water, Disabled American Veterans -13 Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc., California State Council and Southern California chapters.

Directions: On the Grand Lawn inside the VA grounds. Take Wilshire Boulevard west to San Vicente Boulevard, go north a quarter-mile to the Eisenhower Gate. The event is on the right side. Parking is available in Lots No. 10 and No. 17.
