Veterans Line up a Huge Roster for Sunday’s Demonstration

On Sunday afternoon, for the 127th consecutive week, the Old Veterans Guard will demonstrate in front of the National Veterans Home in Brentwood, between 1 and 4 o’clock.

The theme will center around the Veterans Grand Plan:

Transforming the Veterans Home into a 21st century Grand Veterans Home, Grand Veterans Hospital & Healthcare Center, Grand Veterans Home – Residence Towers & Dining Halls, Grand Veterans Service Center – Administrative Assistance for all Veterans.

As many as a dozen persons are expected to speak:

Chelene Nightingale, California gubernatorial candidate for the American Independent Party.

Congressional candidates Robert Vaughn, Bruce Brown and John Smith.

Sam Cordova, Commander, Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 13.

Walter Martin, Commander, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 98.

John Stamatiades, Adjutant, California American Legion, Post 285.

Stephen Palmer, World War II Veteran and President, Veterans Coalition.

Stephen E. Sherman, World War II Veteran; Commander, Dorie Memorial Foundation.

Larry Braezaele, Chairman, National Veterans Coalition.

Ernie Hilger, Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 13 – Sepulveda VA Report.

Stan Dawson, Veteran advocate, Veterans Golf Course and Soccer Field Report.

Jay Handal, Chairman, West Los Angeles Neighborhood Council.

Robert Rosebrock, Director, Old Veterans Guard.

Ted Hayes, the master of ceremonies, is known to Veterans as A Major Citizen Soldier.”
