I am embarrassed to admit it. I released my Dawn album 15 months ago, and I have yet to complete the sheet music for publication.

Everything else is done. I’ve submitted copyrights, set up the website to accept purchases and provide downloads, almost sold out of my first batch of CDs. Yet, even though people have requested sheet music for certain songs, they are still not done.

Of course I have had lists of excuses. It is true my Yen Tango uses technique so new I have had to create a technical vocabulary for that piece alone. Yes, my teaching studio has grown over 300 percent in the last year. And, yes, I have launched a new cello choir.

Even so, I know better.

I spent 3 months last year finishing projects. All the ones on that list are now complete… except this one. I wonder why I have been experiencing hesitation to start the next project. How do I make space for the new when I am still incomplete with the old?

There it is. I have called myself out. And I commit to finishing this collection for real this time. It’s time to give voice to all new new melodies forming in my head!
