Words That Sting

Those were harsh words to the ears of partisans of the longer established Edge Swim Club, which had been regarded as Culver City’s official home team in the world of competitive swimming until this morning. Mr. Corlin, the sturdy second-term City Councilman, told thefrontpageonline.com he has been inundated — via email — by numerous protests from supporters of the Edge Swim Club. They contend their larger, older team has been undercut by City Hall. Instead of having custody of The Plunge largely to themselves, they have been forced to split practice times with the Royal Swim Team and Masters swimmers. Mr. Corlin suspects that while there presently is a size gap between Edge and Royal, “the more practice time Royal has at The Plunge, the likelier they are to grow by attracting new swimmers.”
