The City Attorney race is now dead even – 25 percent to 25 percent – between incumbent Carmen Trutanich and challenger Mike Feuer, according to the just-released ABC Poll.

Nuch is losing steam.

There's still 15 percent undecided…with only 11 days to go. Followed by a long, hard run-off.

How can Carmen Baby get back on track?

Here goes!

Today acting City Council President Ed Reyes unilaterally and arbitrarily decided to cut Public Comment in half so each speaker got only 60 seconds to speak. This covert action is in open violation of the City Council's own Rules and Regulations …with no input from the other Councilpersons to boot.

The City Attorney must issue a legal ruling.

You may remember how Reyes got scorched earlier this week when Mayor Villaraigosa endorsed  the main opponent of Councilman Reyes's  candidate his own  hand-picked Chief of Staff for the seat  that poor Reyes is  forced to vacation June 30 due to term limits legislation.

That means that Mayor Antonio is now fund-raising for his choice state Sen. Gil Cedillo to succeed Reyes, leaving the Reyes puppet candidate Jose Gardea stranded.

Today President Herb Wesson handed the Council meeting over to Reyes a few minutes after the start so Herb could disappear into the back room to chain smoke and to keep a watchful eye on his own Council Deputy son who was recently arrested for drunk-driving and is awaiting trial.

Wesson's pride and joy needs supervision so during a future City Council meeting his doting father won't have to call that kid “knucklehead” as  Herb has done at least once already from the City Council President Chair.

Acting President Reyes violated City Council rules today by acting at his own discretion to violate the Official Rules on General Public Comment as passed by the LA City Council itself!

If Councilman Dennis Zine can't stand up to Reyes, can we expect Dennis to spend most of his time as the newly-elected City Controller bending over and grabbing his knees for every City Hall lobbyist that crosses his path? The only exceptions being certain very attractive lady City Hall lobbyists.

I asked Reyes, Zine and Bill Rosendahl when my turn came up for General  Public Comment to obtain a ruling from the Deputy City Attorney sitting there with her mouth shut. The Councilmanic trio said nothing. The Deputy City Attorney kept her trap shut, too!
