[img]1610|left|Mr. Mike Feuer||no_popup[/img]Mike Feuer, candidate for Los Angeles City Attorney in the May 21 runoff election, misrepresented the true cost of his city attorney campaign in order to fraudulently obtain $300,000 in our tax dollars.
Mr. Feuer then used this illegally obtained money to promote his candidacy to be the city's top legal adviser.
Mr. Feuer's explanation of his conduct in two weeks has changed from day-to-day as he and his consultant have tried desperately to cover their tracks.
The fact is that Mr. Feuer and his consultant, John Shallman, thought they could win the city attorney's race outright, with a majority vote, on March 5.
But to make that happen Mr. Feuer needed to have an overwhelming financial advantage over his main rival, City Atty. Carmen Trutanich.
To obtain that advantage Mr. Feuer and Mr. Shallman conspired to cheat, steal and lie – cheat the voters, steal from taxpayers and lie to ethics officials.
They cheated voters by obtaining an unfair financial advantage, stole from taxpayers by obtaining $300,000 illegally from the city, and they lied to city ethics officials about the quarter-million dollars of illegal campaign contributions they received.
After all this, Mr. Feuer suddenly had a half-million funding advantage over the other candidates in the race.
[img]1697|right|Mr. Carmen Trutanich||no_popup[/img]Mr. Feuer and Mr. Shallman calculated that if they won in the primary, the victory would be worth the possible blowback down the road, if and when the City Ethics Commission ever caught on to their scheme.
Their game plan did not work out as planned.
Mr. Feuer was forced into a runoff with City Atty. Trutanich. Faced now with a determined opposition and an inquiring media, Mr. Feuer is having to explain his entire illegal funding mechanism.
The Los Angeles Times yesterday again caught Mr. Feuer in mulitiple lies as he tried to explain away the unexplainable and hide the illegal.
Feuer-gate continues.
