With the partnership aid of the city’s Public Works Dept., Tito’s Tacos, one of the community’s most popular restaurants, will host a spectacular Arbor Day tree planting Tuesday morning at 8:30 at 11222 Washington Pl.,Tito’s home for the past 55 years.

The hour-long ceremony will start at 8.

The Arbor Day Tree will be planted in order to replace a recently removed and unhealthy tree in the public right-of-way sidewalk area, adjacent to Tito’s Tacos. The tree will be personally chosen by David Talavera, the Public Works arborist, in adherence to the municipality’s Street Tree Master Plan.

Mr. Talavera will make sure that trees planted within the city limits not only are beautiful to look at but also help clean the air we breathe each and every day.

The Public Works Dept. is directly responsible for Culver City having been honored numerous times nationally for its picturesque tree-lined streets with an abundance of flowering trees that have provided colorful backdrops for countless television shows and motion pictures produced within this vibrant Westside community.

Arbor Day is an internationally celebrated holiday founded by J. Sterling Morton to encourage and celebrate the planting of trees in hopes of making the world we live in a much better one.

Special Guests will include two descendants of Mr. Morton, political and elected officials, environmentalists and Culver City school children with a special interest in preserving our planet.

Mariachi music will be fortified by complementary food and beverages that include min-Tito’s Tacos and Copenhagen Bakery pastries.
