The Sunny (?) Arab Spring Sprang a Tyrannical Muslim Leak

If you merely had witnessed the angry face of the bearded, young, political headband-wearing Muslim fanatic at the helm of a fist-shaking mob in Tahrir Square, Cairo, on page A-7 of Saturday’s Wall Street Journal, you would have realized that “the democratic Arab Spring” is the most dishonest fiction we have been sold since Swish Obama was sold as White House material.

These mad Islamic yahoos, by the tens of thousands, we are told, driven by the ghastly Muslim Brotherhood, pour into the center of Cairo demanding establishment of Islamic law.

(If only a slice of you is religious, you should insert a special prayer this morning for the beleaguered Coptic Christians of Egypt. These gentle people are 10 percent of the ugly Muslim population of Egypt, and their greatly endangered lives depreciate daily.)

Bet your inheritance from your loco Aunt Tillie that these Muslims’ bullet-fueled request for hard-line Islamic rule will be granted. They want Shariah Law now. For a decade, they have been changing the face of Europe while the Western world, including Europe, looks away and whistles.

Armed with the same weapons that power the American left — a sycophantic, 98 percent cooperative media — the daily mobs are not going to brook any nonsense of how they are suffering from the Western disease of instant gratification.

With the exception of the Wall Street Journal, the largest newspapers in the Western world are telling us that the Arab Spring is the best news for peace lovers in the region since the Ottoman Empire burned down a century ago.

It is a lie of the same magnitude that such newspapers adamantly defend virtually every Arab and Muslim extremist who tries to ignite havoc in his pocket of the world:

Arabs, Muslims and many journalists loathe our way of life. They hate capitalism while envying our freedom. They believe that every earthling should have exactly $64.15 in his pocket, unless you can find a way to slip bonuses into the wallets of some of them.

Egalitarianism and the deadly left-wing moral equivalency concept now known as equality are intensely desirable — as long as they are applied to others.

The Arab Spring is as undemocratic as the Smiling Dwarf in Iran or King Assad of Syria and King Ghadafi of Libya. But the White House believes there is inherent good in all three leaders. They’re Muslims, baby, and it’s Ramadan.

Realistic hopes for a genuine Arab Spring democracy have vanished faster than a heat wave in a midget’s igloo. Last winter, there was genuine (but foolish) hope in several tyrant-run Arab lands. The hope was amorphous.

The media’s worshipful kid-glove treatment of Arab and Muslim terrorists is the most sickening moral development of the day.

Take last week’s case of the maniacal Muslim (U.S) soldier who was planning an attack on Ft. Hood in Texas.

Like a good liberal toady, the Los Angeles Titanic hunkered down in last Saturday’s edition. In a 25-paragraph report that was supposed to be a news story, the three-person reporting team twisted themselves into curly-cues to avoid calling him, shh, a Muslim, yet another terrorist refugee from this wonderful religion of peace where members refuse to call out bad guys.

To the dishonest Titanic, it is incidental that Naser Jason Abdo is a Muslim. The three reporters tried not to link Abdo with Islam. He may not even be a Muslim, the foundering newspaper asserted in the story. In one instant, the embarrassed reporters, struggling to cover for Mr. Abdo, said that he had “claimed” to be a Muslim — even though this despicable person repeatedly has so identified himself since his arrest.

Last Add Sentiment

Still, the Titanic is a little poorer today. For financial reasons, the failing sheet last Tuesday laid off one of its oldest and most prominent essayists, Tim Rutten. A 39-year veteran just short of retirement age, he was planning to leave in four years. Though I regularly disagreed with him, this is a nasty, undeserved fate.

However, in the Sunny News Dept., ditzy “environmental” reporter Margot Roosevelt, who believes the end of the world is near because of “global heating,” was canned last week by the Titanic while traveling in the chilly Arctic. Sorry, tears only are for serious journalists.
