It’s easy for my mind to induce mild panic while thinking of all the things I have left to do this week before Saturday’s show.
Thankfully, this morning I had to write a recap of all that I have ALREADY done to my publicist. In the process, I realized how much I have accomplished.
Today, six days before the performance, I have already successfully run through my entire program twice – complete with speeches. I never have been this prepared.
I also have already addressed all logistical details for the performance and the pre-party.
Most importantly, for the last three weeks I have been consistently connecting with my friends and family, sending each a personal message catching up and inviting them to the show.
These aren’t cut-and-paste messages that can be programmed in a fancy email merge program. These are about me sitting down to think of those I love and appreciate… and letting them know how I love and appreciate them.
The Best Part
While I love playing my cello and performing, this connecting with people one-on-one is my favorite part of this process.
And as much as I love writing these pieces, a long list of friends awaiting messages is before me. I hope to see you this Saturday at 8 p.m. for the pre-party, 9 p.m. for the show, so that I can connect with you.
Details:
8 p.m. — Pre-party: 208 N. Spurgeon St
8:30 — Doors: The Yost Theatre, 307 N. Spurgeon St, Santa Ana, 92701 The show will begin promptly at 9.
