I taught my first lesson today in my new cello studio.

What a beautiful space!

The entrance is off a landscaped private drive (okay, Tustin’s upscale version of an alley). The studio itself has bamboo floors, a large picture window and beautiful French doors that allow for warm afternoon light.

Much larger than my previous teaching space, this new studio feels like a cavern. It can fit at least 6 to 8 cellists comfortably. I already have announced a new “beginning cello for adults” class as well as a “theory cello” series to ground my students in musical concepts they need to accompany their playing ability.

At the moment, it is bare… and a bit scary. However, I see the discomfort as good. It is just what I need to take the next steps in my vision for my career.
