Down the street on Washington Boulevard, at Club Tropical, the less inhibited loyalists of Mr. Silbiger were more raucous, more like first-time winners, more jubilant, more out there.
Last night’s victory tasted sweeter than his first one four years ago, probably because Mr. Silbiger is about to ascend into the Mayor’s chair.
This is heady stuffy for the proudly unabashed Progressives. They are accustomed to taking a seat farther removed from power.
