Dateline Dayton – If you are like me, you will find articles in the newspaper that attract your attention. You read the story, expect a follow-up informing you of the outcome. So frustrating when this doesn’t happen. Today I will give an update on matters I have written about in the past.
Abortion – It’s still around and probably always will be. I’m not naive enough to think that one day abortion will not exist. Groups still march each year in Washington. What a waste. They should be spending their time working to send new representation to Washington, someone who shares their views and not try to change the idiots we have there now.
Child Abuse – Has anything changed? No. The only ray of hope is Dr. Phil being on the bandwagon, that having children should require a license. We must educate – and not after a child has suffered.
Dayton Arcade – Nothing happening, and it doesn’t appear anything will very soon. The sidewalk had to be blocked because the building is falling down. and will continue to fall unless something is done soon to protect it from the elements. Another issue is that the real estate taxes have not been paid since it was purchased I’m concerned that Dayton will be adding the Arcade along with a couple other buildings to a demolition list.
Pauline’s Brother – Father Joe is progressing nicely. Last weekend he made the move to assisted living. On Ash Wednesday, he even had the service for the facility because the priest who normally takes care of Walnut Creek was busy in his own parish
More Changes – We spent most of Saturday transferring his things from our house and the storage unit. If that wasn’t enough, our son Chris chose the same weekend to make his move from our home to a house he is renting. However, he and a friend took care of most of that move on Friday, so Chris was able to help with Father Joe’s move.
The Zollinger Building, Piqua – It is my understanding that the building has been sold, but I haven’t seen or heard about any activity. Some time ago there was a lot of activity, even a proposal presented to the Piqua City Commission, to convert the building to condos. But the person could not secure financing.
I took Valentine’s Day as my off-day from work and, as a treat for Pauline, we drove to Cincinnati. We started the day with breakfast at a nice restaurant and then visited the American Sign Museum, in downtown Cincinnati.
Later, we went to I took Pauline to the Krone’s Gardens, in the Mt. Adams section of Cincinnati. We eventually enjoyed a late lunch/early supper at Barvo’s, a great meal and we didn’t have to wait.
Saturday evening, after all the moving, we attended a Valentine’s dance at our church.
And then we rested.
