How worried are liberals that Michele Bachmann will walk away with the Republican White House nomination a year from now?
Mother Jones magazine, which has replaced The Nation as a powerful media voice for the left, has produced another dandy in typically pretzel-shaped liberal thinking.
Remember last winter when the Arizona congresswoman was nearly murdered and probably crippled for life by a young lunatic. It took 8 minutes for leftists to blame the attack on Sarah Palin because they still feared she would run for President.
Aerobic reasoning, we call it.
The other afternoon, they were still counting bodies in Oslo when the ever-busy hard left boys cried out in joyous harmony, “We know who is responsible for this — right-wing websites that inspired this Christian extremist.”
They love to stitch those attention-grabbing words together.
The liberal boys’ current worry is Ms. Bachman, attractive (which really bothers the liberal girls and liberal boys), smart, articulate, informed, and has more experience than Swishy’s left foot or his sore head.
Somebody figured out there have been 9 teen suicides in Ms. Bachmann’s congressional district in Minnesota the last two years.
Mother Jones, ever deft, nuanced and impressively restrained, shrewdly pins the blame on Ms. Bachmann, although you could get dizzy tracing the reasoning. I did.
Mother, as we pals refer to the left mag, reports the following:
State public health officials have labeled the area a “suicide contagion area” because of the unusually high death rate.
The deaths are traced to bullying of gays and suspected gays. It is Ms. Bachmann’s fault they are in their graves this afternoon, says Mama J, because organizations backing her candidacy have convinced the school board in the district to institute a policy where the gay lifestyle is to be treated as a neutral concept rather than a desirable one.
Ergo, hatred of gays is being calculatedly foisted upon a vulnerable population, leading to fatalities, and Ms. Bachmann is the cause.
Yes, m’am, and 4 plus 4 equals 15 2/3.
