Ruminating on the Late Bond Campaign

Monday night’s quashing, or squashing, of the School District’s proposed bond measure campaign yesterday was compared to a fat lady sitting on a cake.

But she has yet to sing, and it ain't over until the fat lady sings!

This was just a battle.

The war is not won until the passage of Aug.  9, the last day it can be put on the November ballot.

It looks as if enough of our community chose to “Just Say No” at this time.

Maybe if we had a more conservative-spending School Board that would not give away our taxes to employees before we actually recover from the Great Recession, the bond would have garnered more support at this time.

The fact that the employee bargaining units passed their agreements with such an overwhelming vote just shows how great a gift it was.

Maybe in a couple of more years, after renewing Measure EE, the parcel tax.
