Today for the first time, I almost couldn’t find a treadmill to use at the gym. Instead of being frustrated, I smiled.

I am happy for all those who made fitness-related resolutions. I only hope that their resolve lasts far beyond Jan. 4.

In my life, a goal is only as good as the no-excuses implementation I put behind it. Each year, quarter, month, week and day, I make goals and lists (which are really just mini-goals).

However, in this process I take extreme caution. For I know that if I start slipping on my daily or weekly lists, I will see the finish line become transparent in the fog of life’s twists and turns. It is my daily actions that make goals come alive.

We are all great at dreaming and making goals… including New Year’s resolutions. I wish everyone the resolution – and uncompromising commitment – to keep their resolve and make their dreams reality.

P.S.

My first goal for the year is to give my all to my upcoming show on Jan. 16, a week from Saturday, at the Yost Theater. What is yours? What are you willing to do to achieve it?
