Republicans’ Relentless Battle to Strip Americans of Healthcare

A popular definition of the word insanity is doing the same action multiple times and expecting different results. The decision by House Republicans to vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act for the 33rd time last week, even after the U. S. Supreme Court defended its constitutionality, cannot be described with any word other than insane.

We must not waste another minute engaging in political theatre. Now is our time to show the American people we are listening and are working together to provide solutions to get our country back on a path of long-term prosperity

The Affordable Care Act keeps insurance companies in check. Literally. It forces them to send rebate checks to people if they spend more than 20% of insurance premiums on administrative costs. This year, the Obama administration is forcing insurance companies to send more $1.1 billion dollars back to consumers.

House Republicans are trying to take back rebate checks from families who've struggled for years with rising cost of health insurance and let insurance companies run amuck again.

We can't let Republicans repeal Health Care Reform. Spread the word.

Managing Student Loans

The U.S. Department of Education recently released a new interactive loan counseling tool that is designed to help students better manage their higher education pocketbooks. The tool, coined the Financial Awareness Counseling Tool, provides key insight about student loan debt, including estimates of post-graduation debt levels, how to manage student spending and how to avoid default. Through a series of tutorials, the Financial Awareness Counseling Tool provides relevant feedback to students, taking into account their individual loan histories.

I encourage you to utilize the Financial Awareness Counseling Tool, which can be accessed here. It is a free and easily accessible method to help manage student loans and prepare for a future without debt. Click here to check it out
