Endorse Measure J on the November ballot to finance the completion of seven iconic transit projects and eight highway improvement projects in a decade.

Measure J will ensure a 60-year revenue stream for bus operations and for cities to use for local projects, like filling potholes and fixing sidewalks.

Endorsers include the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, L.A./Orange County Building Trades Council, L.A. County Business Federation, the County Federation of Labor, Mobility 21, American Lung Assn. in California, Laborers’ Local 300, the L.A. Business Council, NRDC, Valley Industry and Commerce Assn., Ironworkers, the Sierra Club’s Angeles Chapter Executive Committee, CicLAvia, IBEW, L.A.World Airports, Endangered Habitats League, Los Angeles Walks, Arts for L.A., and more.

What is Measure J?

How does it fund these projects?

Measure J does not raise taxes. Instead, Measure J would extend the 30-year Measure R sales tax by another 30 years (to 2069) in order to provide a longer revenue stream that L.A. Metro can use to secure financing that accelerates construction of these projects now, when interest rates and construction costs are at historic lows and unemployment is high. Measure J provides traffic relief that also creates thousands of jobs and provides a boost to the economy.

It would be our own voter-approved economic stimulus package.
