Re:  VA Town-Hall Meeting

Dear Mr. Tillman:

Per the directive of new VA Secretary Robert A. McDonald, the Los Angeles VA will be holding a Town Hall meeting with Veterans on Monday, Sept. 29.  As you know, this Town Hall meeting is scheduled to be held at the West Los Angeles Medical Center, from 12 noon to 2 o’clock, 11301 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles 90073, — Building 500, Room 1281.

As you also know, Room 281 holds 200 people.

And as you also know, Los Angeles has the largest Veteran population in the nation.

Correspondingly, why are you holding this paramount VA/Veteran meeting at Room 281 instead of Wadsworth Theater that seats 1,350, just as you allowed U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Ma) to recently hold a political fundraiser?

On behalf of our many fellow Veterans who plan on attending this long overdue VA Town Hall meeting, this is to respectfully request that you change the venue location to the Wadsworth Theater, or the Jackie Robinson Stadium on VA grounds that has a seating capacity of 1,821 in the bleachers. It  could be greatly expanded with on-field seating, including large video screens for ease of vision and hearing for our many elderly and disabled Veterans.

Lastly, please go the extra mile for our fellow Veterans and make this open dialogue forum as Veteran-friendly and convenient as possible for the greater good, including extending the duration of this Town Hall meeting until every Veteran is given the opportunity to be heard.  Additionally, this is to respectfully request that our World War II Veterans be given priority seating, close to the front, so that they can easily see, hear and be seen and heard.

Looking forward to a very productive Town Hall meeting.

Sincerely,
Robert L. Rosebrock
