Dear L.A. media:
Please do a story on Mayor' Villaraigosa’s immediate reaction to the recent removal of body scanners at LAX.
Do you recall Villaraigosa's LAX press conference while ago where Hizzoner voluntarily and “bravely” exposed himself in front of news cameras to full body scanner radiation, trying unsuccessfully to convince the public that these machines were totally harmless?
Now President Obama's Federal Aviation Administration quietly is pulling these same body scanners that are banned in Europe as a health risk to air travelers – leaving the Mayor looking plain silly!
Obama's move is a matter of Presidential politics. It is designed to placate voters who fear radiation damage from the full body peeping-tom scanners.
So all these hazardous body scanners have been sent by Obama to tiny airports where they will be hardly used.
The embarrassing news video of the Mayor of L.A. taking a free-will blast of Homeland Security harmful radiation to convince the doubting thomases that the scanners are good for you, tells us more about Antonio's news camera obsession than anything else scientific.
