No Inhibition?

An abbreviated scenario:

Robert (me): "What a nice hat your child has."
Stranger: "Say ‘Thank you,’ Jason."
Robert: "Hey, Jason, how old are you?"
Stranger: "He’s almost three."
Robert: "Bye-bye Jason. Nice to meet you."

Okay, what’s wrong with that?

Some devil’s advocate positions: What right does Robert have to “pry” into this family’s activities. (I can’t think of any more devil’s advocate positions.)

Well, do you side with me (no holds barred — talking with anyone, anywhere, about almost anything)? Or, do you side with others who say, in essence, that I should "mind my own business," and not talk to strangers? Or, do you suggest a "middle ground"? Let me know. Have no inhibitions — you can talk to me ANY time.

Mr. Ebsen, who never has undergone even superficial surgery for bashfulness, would love to talk to you at robertebsen@hotmail.com.
