Re “Children Wearing Suicide Belts – Terrorists Riding in Screaming Ambulances”

[Editor’s Note: As Hamas terrorists continue firing rockets into Israel, sending frightened residents underground, our correspondent resumes her daily update.]

Dateline Jerusalem – Yesterday, 112 rockets were launched at Israel. While yakking on the telephone with a friend and watching the Code Red Alerts buzzing, flashing on my computer, we were rudely interrupted by blaring sirens and booms. This necessitated a trip to my stairwell. One man, and the rest were infants, small children, and women. I probably was the oldest.

More sirens: A friend and I had just finished dinner at my apartment when the buzzzzzzzzzzz on my computer went off.  Another Code Red Alert in Israel. I looked at the alert map and told my friend she should not leave for her home. The alarm was not far from me. My area could be next. As soon as I said “next,” the sirens wailed. We rushed to my stairwell for safety. People tell me I am a jinx, that I should not speak or think of the next siren. I was a Girl Scout. “Be prepared” was our motto.  I am not a jinx. Nor am I a predictor of rockets. I am merely figuring out patterns, the methods to their madness.

Egypt’s Effective Panacea

I understand Hamas, a Hebrew word meaning violence. Their madness stems from being an amoral people so obsessed with death they purposely endanger their own women and children. Even fellow Arabs refused to absorb them as they created a 66-year refugee situation.  Egypt is fed up with Hamas.  Egypt, however, came up with a brilliant way to handle the terror and smuggling tunnels.  They have been flooding the tunnels along the Sinai with waste water and buckets of sewage soaked soil!

What I cannot understand is Israel's so-called allies. Israel has been threatened by Palestinian rockets, armed infiltrators and kidnappers. Yet the biggest threats seem to be coming from allies.  With friends like these, who needs enemies?  In an attempt to control Israel, the U.S. and Europe have threatened Israel with economic and political isolationism. What better time to stab Israel in the back than in mid-war? Do what I say or else.  When Israel determined that the security and safety of its people from attacks was of utmost importance, the knife began to twist.  The FAA called for the suspension of flights to Israel. They encouraged European airlines to follow.  It did not just issue warnings, as it does with Afghanistan, Syria and other areas of conflict. It forbid U.S. flights to and from Israel. Previously threatened isolationism came into effect.  Israel can either unilaterally accept a ceasefire and let Hamas eventually annihilate it, or fight back, not just Hamas but the world.

As Israel responds to rocket and missile attacks from Gaza, our country is being accused of war crimes while the international terror organization Hamas is promised millions in U.S. aid. Why should this surprise anyone.  Genocide is all over the world, and every violator of human rights sits on the U.N. committee that addresses the issue. Being a terror organization seems to be one of the steps on the ladder to success.  Mind-boggling, isn't it?

Thank you for allowing me to vent.
