Since the Iraq war began, Congress has spent almost a half-trillion dollar on what MoveOn.org regards as an unwinnable civil war. The cost of the war to residents in the 30th Congressional district is $1.37 billion. In the 36th, it’s $1.16 billion.

“Every day the war goes on means more of our hard earned tax dollars are wasted on an endless religious civil war that can’t be won,” said Heidi Mylo, local MoveOn member.

“In Culver City and Santa Monica and Venice, that money should be spent where we really need it, on healthcare, schools and solving the rampant homelessness in our community. We’ve had enough. Congress needs to vote in September to end this war and bring our troops home,” Ms. Mylo concluded.

After the event, local MoveOn members will deliver the report to the offices of Members of Congress around Los Angeles at their district offices.
