I tend to think in a strange combination of prose, poetry, and visually enticing “bullet” lists. I had fun trying to incorporate that into one cohesive piece… hmmm…
Imagine me alone in my candlelit loft reflecting late at night…
I am an orange geyser of creativity
Restrained by the faucet of my body.
Perched on the couch
All I want to do is write, play, and draw.
Instead my arms
Insist on stillness and rest
While my mind paces frantically
Seeking release.

It is because of such moments that I spend hours each day honoring my body.
She gets:
Daily exercise
Self-massage
Ice pack treatments
Only the best produce
Fine chocolate
And red meat whenever she pleases (to the chagrin of my vegetarian friends).
This is because she has the all-important honor of being the gatekeeper to my artistic output.
And so I listen carefully… and appreciate all she is able to allow.
