I admit it.
You would not be reading this… except that there’s a part of me that won’t give up… even on a near useless day.
After enjoying a romantic getaway weekend with my husband, I was already fatigued upon waking this morning. An early appointment that definitely was not early and printer issues had my task lists teetering like the pile of dishes I find in the kitchen by 11 a.m. after one of my husband’s delicious home-cooked meals.
Small melodramas continued to surface all the way until I was nearly late for my dinner date with my husband. While there was nothing that was in and of itself newsworthy, when I finally put away my work for the day (which is a lie as you are reading this while he snores), I was frustrated… and not very good company.
I don’t like days that resemble molasses. Just a bit of the spice keeps me from racing off into the sunset, but too much of the stuff… especially when it’s the bit that starts at the bottom of the jar and takes FOREVER to drizzle forth… leaves me at the end of my day twitching with impatience. I don’t do well with incomplete tasks.
It’s an odd joke to put Valentine’s Day on a Monday. I’m glad I had the foresight to start early on the celebration. And I feel fortunate to have a husband who knows not to take my moods personally.
