Re “You Were So Wrong About Sen. Mitchell”
[Editor’s Note: City Councilman Andy Weissman and the editor of the newspaper disagree over the effectiveness of state Sen. Holly Mitchell’s (D-Culver City) now and when she served n the state Assembly.]
I thought you might be interested in the attached determination letter received from yesterday from the state Dept. of Finance.
This letter is an outgrowth of the meet-and-confer meeting we had with the DOF on Nov. 22 in Sacramento that Sen. Holly Mitchell participated in.
As a result of the information provided to the DOF and the discussions at that meeting, the amount the state wants us to pay from our low- and moderate- income housing funds was lowered from $22,178,120 to $2,724,618, which is the amount that we contended was the correct amount.
I would characterize that result as success – with the help of Sen. Mitchell.
Because you are results-oriented, I knew you would be interested in the outcome.
