[Editor’s Note: School Board  candidate Robert  Zirgulis has forwarded a letter he  sent to  fellow  Board candidate Kathy Paspalis.]

Dear Ms. Paspalis;

I was given a printed copy of your “Facebook Profile.”  Next to your picture the following was written:

Kathy Paspalis is a fan of:

Non-Profits

NPR

Kiva.org

Lambda Legal

Close the Loophole

ACORN

I was quite surprised that you would list ACORN as an organization that you are a fan of!

I am sure that you are aware that ACORN has been involved with scandals of public corruption, voter fraud, and most recently, there have been three videotaped sting operations where ACORN officials offered to help a “pimp” illegally bring underaged 13 to 15-year-old girls from Central America for the purposes of prostitution.

The videotape of ACORN employees giving advice on how to evade taxes and run a brothel to a man and woman posing as a pimp and prostitute was shown nationwide in late September. Yet you still had posted on your Facebook profile that you were a “fan of ACORN,” as of Oct. 20, 2009.

Ms. Paspalis, aren't you concerned that it appears that you support a taxpayer funded “community organization” that is a bankrupt, a morally corrupt front group of thieves, extortionists and liars?

I believe you removed the posting of your being a “fan of ACORN” after Oct. 20 when concerned citizens began questioning you about it.

I have, up to this date, not publicly criticized any candidate for School Board. I have ignored personal attacks from your campaign manager and other supporters, which you apparently did not object to.

I would like  you to join me in renouncing ACORN.  I think it is a shame that  such an organization can receive millions of dollars in taxpayer grant money while our schools are in need of that grant money.

I call on you and your supporters to also join me in demanding that all grant money given to ACORN be re-directed towards our schools.

Sincerely yours,

Robert Zirgulis
