As times are tough all around, and especially difficult for the Culver City schools, the Culver City High School Booster Club is attempting to raise money in a fun way.

This Saturday evening, from 6:30 to 11:30, the Booster Club is hosting its annual Community Casino Night at the Vets Auditorium.

“Save the Date” is the tagline for this year’s Booster Club’s annual Casino Night. The date to save is this Saturday, when Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium will be turned into the finest casino this side of Las Vegas.

The cost of the 6:30 gala is an amazingly low, $20 per person ($25 at the door). Each participant will receive $100 in chips. In addition to appetizers and an incredible dessert bar, there will be a no-host bar, featuring alcohol generously donated by Vice Mayor Mehaul O’Leary of Joxer’s Daly and Kevin Kunisaki of LaBrea Liquor. This event is, of course, limited to adults.

In addition to more than two dozen table games, there will be a silent auction featuring, among other things, Disneyland tickets, restaurant gift cards, hotel stays, and other activities. Live auction items include an autographed Kobe Bryant jersey, the chance to be a ballboy/ballgirl at an upcoming Clippers game, and dinner with the Culver City Fire Dept.

Craig Ferre, surf board maker extraordinaire, has donated a custom, handmade, surf board to the Booster Club.

Raffle tickets are $5 each, and the winner will be announced at the Casino Night. This custom board is yellow and white, with the Culver City Centaur logo prominently displayed.

In keeping with the theme of Casino Night, this year we will be raffling off ($5/ticket) an antique slot machine and hotel stays in Las Vegas and Laughlin.

The Culver City High School Booster Club helps to support student clubs, organizations, athletic teams and other extracurricular activities of Culver City High School through financial support and volunteerism.
