RE A public hearing before the Planning Commission, Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 7 o’clock, regarding two proposed 3-story office complexes at 9919 Jefferson Blvd., featuring a “small” space in the front building devoted to restaurant/retail, and two-level subterranean parking.
Here we go again.
I doubt 346 parking spaces would be sufficient for 113,400 square feet of office space.
A newspaper report from Boston in 2002 indicated the old standard was 300-350 feet per employee, then down to 200 to 250, and with dense office users, like call centers, 140-150 per person.
Using some of those numbers, and no carpooling or buses, for 200 square feet per person there could be 567 employees (or cars) and for 150 square feet per person, 756 employees (or cars).
So no matter what we will be told, there may not be enough parking given possible future tenants.
Not to speak of the additional traffic on Jefferson, et al.
When is enough enough?
