Coastal Cleanup Day, an international event, runs Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12 noon with Culver City joining 12,000 volunteers from all over Los Angeles County at different sites to take action to rid our beaches and inland waterways of unsightly harmful debris.
Coastal Cleanup Day is an international event with 60 countries participating, making it one of the largest volunteer efforts on the planet.
Each year, Culver City Public Works, with the help of community support, participates in the annual on the Ballona Creek bike path.
Coastal Cleanup Day is a fun way for individuals, neighborhoods, schools, and community and company volunteer groups to get involved and demonstrate their commitment to healthy water. Pick your favorite Culver City bike path location and join us in the morning. Culver City registration sites will be located at:
• Syd Kronenthal Park (at the bike path entrance)
• Duquesne Avenue (north of Culver City Transportation building)
• Overland Avenue (Behind the Julian Dixon Library)
• Sepulveda Boulevard (on bike/creek path entrance).
We are honored to have Echo Horizon School, www.echohorizon.org, the Culver City Bike Coalition, www.ccbike.org, the Ballona Creek Renaissance, www.BallonaCreek.org and Kiwanis Los Angeles host the Culver City registration sites on the Ballona Creek Bike Path.
Bring your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to participate with the thousands of volunteers around the world in taking a stand against ocean pollution on Coastal Cleanup Day.
See you at the creek.
