To know Scott Malsin is not to love him. When he was on the City Council, Mr. Malsin was noted for being arrogant, rude, condescending, often hysterical. He wants to paint himself as a victim and a great guy. Anybody who has seen him in action, and who knows the facts, would take serious issue with that. Do not be distracted by his tireless and self-serving spin.
Contrary to being a self proclaimed “consensus builder,” Mr. Malsin better belongs to a time in the past when Council members were aggressively rude to each other and to the citizens of this community who were attempting to be heard at meetings. It is a pleasure to watch the current City Council in action, now absent Mr. Malsin, and to witness the civility and good manners that currently exist. Why in the world would anybody want Mr. Malsin back? He grossly exaggerates his contributions to the city and often makes representations not supported by the facts.
We need civility and good manners on the City Council. We need people who can work together. We need thoughtful and dedicated people who desire to serve rather than be served. We need people who are independent of developers and whose objective is the betterment of the city without thought to personal gain.
Mr. Malsin now has his very generous lifetime benefits at taxpayer expense. He has been well served by the people of this community at a very fiscally challenging time. It is time now to move on, and to say adios on Election Day, Tuesday, to Mr. Malsin.
