There Was No Need for Me to Wait Around

I thoroughly enjoyed stirring the pot last night at the Culver City Democratic Club’s Candidate Endorsement Forum.

It was clear that the Silbiger Machine had the upper hand over the Corlin Machine.

I didn't even stick around for the second ballot. What is the difference between Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum?

I find it interesting that I was the only candidate who mentioned the important issue of Mark Scott's resignation as City Manager and finding his replacement.

The City Manager is responsible for carrying out the policies set forth by the City Council as well as running the city on roughly a $150 million budget!

As I demonstrated last night, I am the only independent Democrat among all the other candidates running for City Council. Gary Silbiger's client is Megan Sahli-Wells, Alan Corlin's are Scott Malsin and Jeff Cooper.

I joked that there is a danger of having a politically correct monolithic “Stalinist regime” choosing a city manager that will be an extension of the Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum political machines. In hindsight, this might become a reality if I am not elected to City Council.

In fairness to the voters and people of Culver City, it is not healthy to have corrupt machine politics running your government.

As the only candidate t truly independent from the political machines, I will serve as a safety valve, a watchdog to prevent the adage, “Power has a tendency to corrupt, but absolute power corrupts absolutely” from happening to our city.
