Re “How Culver City Sister City Group Has Changed in 50 Years”

[Editor’s Note: To correct the record, Ms. Wolkowitz is President of the Culver City Sister City Committee and Barbara Honig, the Vice President, was Chair of this month’s 50th anniversary celebration.]

Thanks so much for the coverage and space allotted to the Culver City Sister City Committee’s 50th anniversary celebration.

We love how well our events went, and we appreciate all the good comments.  I’ve attached a copy of the banquet’s Program Book because we’re pretty proud of the event and the outpouring of community support.

More than 350 people were in attendance at the free Open House, and a capacity crowd of 180 participated at the banquet.

Our live entertainment was worth the cost of being there with a free dinner thrown in.

For those interested in seeing costumes and pictures from the program, I have inserted the address below of our Facebook page. Go to albums to see the event.

Here are two outtakes from your two stories:

  • “Barbara Honig, President of the Culver City committee and very longtime member, addressed the question of the best reason to become associated with Sister City members.”
  • “One of the major changes in the day-to-day life of the Culver City Sister City Committee, freshly turned 50 years old, is that ‘we are much more community based now,’ says President Barbara Honig.”

We posted on our Facebook Page yesterday that we are soliciting members to let us know if they are interested in serving on the board as a Director.  Usually Nominating Committees have no idea who really is interested in getting more involved and in what kind of capacity. So I thought, just ask.
