Since When Is the City Hyping Downtown Eateries?

While perusing the culvercity.org website to find out about a street closure, I was surprised to see a restaurant highlighted on the city’s homepage.

When did the city get into the advertising business?

I am seriously wondering if my fellow residents and I are being sold a bill of goods that we did not ask for.

Personally, I am not impressed with three blocks of trendy restaurants.

It does not make the city anything like a restaurant row in Beverly Hills, or even Abbot Kinney.

I am not impressed with how ugly the streets are in the Downtown area and how Trader Joe’s is now a pain to get to because of the redirected street — ostensibly for future shopping.

I wish that the city would take a drive to Larchmont or to Pasadena and see what makes a small city charming as opposed to on sale for the Trend of the Day.
