After years of relying on other media sources to communicate about our city, it is time for us to begin an unfiltered community-wide discussion about how we can improve Culver City.
This morning we launched the Culver City Progress Blog at http://culvercityprogress.blogspot.com with an editorial by Karlo, “The Value of Informed Dialogue.”
Every week we will bring you the best in news and analysis from Culver City leaders, focusing on how we can progress as a community.
On Sundays, we will send out an email update recapping the content from the previous week and previewing the entries for the week ahead. Then it is up to you to visit the blog and participate in the discussion. The end result will be a better informed community and a more active citizenry.
For our inaugural week we are proud to bring you 4 entries:
• On Tuesday, Karlo Silbiger will focus on the role of dialogue in community improvement and the purpose for this endeavor.
• On Wednesday, Darryl Cherness will focus on the importance of developing a “Motion Picture and Television Museum” in Culver City.
• On Thursday, Jon Barton will focus on the need for stakeholder involvement in designing the School District's capital improvement projects and,
• On Friday, Gary Silbiger will focus on the importance of the Brown Act and open meeting laws and how Culver City may not be in full compliance with the intent of those laws.
We are excited to get started and hope that you will check out our entries each day this week. If you know of others who may want to participate and sign on to this email list or if you have an idea for an upcoming post, please email us at culvercityprogress@gmail.com.
Gary Silbiger and Karlo Silbiger are co-editors of the Culver City Progress Blog.
