Re “NFL Stadium Headlines Meeting Agenda Tomorrow”
[Editor’s Note: The city of Inglewood will convene a community meeting at 7 this evening at the Inglewood Police Community Center, 2901 W. Manchester Blvd., to discuss a proposed “NFL-ready stadium.”]
Regarding tonight’s community meeting about a stadium in Inglewood, the mayor, James Butts, is the same Mr. Butts who fell from grace after being police chief in Santa Monica and then was head of LAX security for a couple years before being paid off and pushed out.
From head of LAX security to the mayor of Inglewood? That is clearly a couple of steps down. He should have headed to DC or a to a federal position after LAX, I believe.
Mr. Butts is holding the meeting to attempt persuading the block club captains to obtain signatures for the dubious stadium proposal.
Having closely followed him for the last few years, I am sure there is more to it as well.
I mean to find out when I attend the event.
He recently made all the Inglewood City Council meetings private so that residents can no longer access them (https://www.youtube.com/user/TheCityofInglewood/playlists). He is attempting to waste city resources to apply a SLAPP against a dissident who has a number of times exhibited evidence of Mr. Butts's untruths and his direct influence of a city-funded newspaper, Inglewood Today. He is sure to be trying to pull something tonight.
The last time Mr. Butts was at a block club captains' meeting at the same place, this video footage was shot of him slandering a newspaper (of which I was the editor) and attempting to physically intimidate me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZuf4x_RWT8
As for Mr. Butts in general, where do I start? There is so much more. Much of it can be found at Citywatchla.com (just type in “Randall Fleming” or “James Butts” and quite a bit will pop up.) There is also the Morningside Park Chronicle website that is loaded with stories, links, pics and vids: http://www.morningsideparkchronicle.com/5388/s/front-page
