Measure EE, the parcel tax for the School District, is having a small, intimate, fundraiser.
Limited to the first 35 paid guests, at just $20/guest, we are hosting a retro pinball/video game night at Southern California’s finest pinball museum, PJ’s Pinball, on Sepulveda Boulevard (across from Big 5).
The date: Saturday, Oct. 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests will be able to play and alternate between 20 vintage pinball machines and seven vintage video games.
No need to bring any quarters. That has been taken care of.
We want to make certain that each guest has enough time to play.
That is why we are going to limit this event to the first 35 paid guests.
Anyone interested can contact me directly at 310.925.8207.
Kids are certainly welcome, as well.
We will take walkups on the night of the event, until we reach the capacity.
Measure EE, a Culver City schools funding measure on the Culver City ballot for the Nov. 3 County Consolidated Election, if passed, will bring in an estimated $1.2 million per year for the next five years.
Measure EE is endorsed by over 500 individuals including State Sen. Curran Price, County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, and more than 20 current and former Culver City elected officials. The Culver City Chamber of Commerce, the City Council, the Democratic Club, the County Federation of Labor, the Teachers Union and the Culver City Council PTA, among others, have wholeheartedly endorsed Measure EE.
State budget cuts are threatening the quality of instruction in every Culver City classroom. Over the past two years, the School District has cut over $6 million in educational programs. This school year, up to $3 million in additional cuts will be necessary without passage of Measure EE.
Measure EE will provide stable, locally controlled funding ($8 per month, per parcel) to offset the most devastating cuts.
Measure EE will help:
Maintain advanced math, science, technology and college-prep programs.
Preserve small class sizes
Retain quality teachers
Keep school libraries open
Provide up-to-date instructional materials
Protect art and music education programs
Keep school facilities clean, safe and well maintained
Every penny will stay in Culver City to prevent classroom and instructional support cuts. By law, Measure EE funds cannot be taken away by the state or spent on administrator salaries.
Thank you.
