Speaking of the Summer Music Festival and whatever condiiton it is in, I do not think the city should be spending money on free concerts when the city is short of money.
If the Downtown businesses do not want to participate in this series, then it no longer is an economic development expenditure.
As far as producer Gary Mandell is concerned, the concerts have attracted lots of happy people. I don't know why the City Council and others want younger people. They don't have as much money as those who are a little older.
I never had a dime until I was nearly forty.
I also am very freaked out by the demonstration made by the environmental extremists at last Monday night’s Council meeting.
I hope I am not overreacting when I say these plastic bag people are scary. So self-righteous. So angelic.
State Sen. Curren Price (D-Culver City), in my opinion, voted correctly against the plastic bag ban.
There are two manufacturers in Los Angeles who make these bags, and this industry provides 800 jobs in Los Angeles County.
I will tell you why plastic bags are a problem:
Too many people are litter bugs.
Paper bags are worse. Cutting down trees????
Isn't that why the old environmentalists pushed to switch to plastic. These bags are as least half vegetable crap anyway.
The Health Dept does not allow reusable bags in in certain businesses.
I was surprised on Monday that one speaker was allowed to use homo-phobic foul language.
Oh, well. I guess the minority workers in these factories should just disappear.
Environmentalists are all talking about sustainability. Do they know there are 42,000 people living in Culver City in four square miles????
I just can't take it.
Thanks for listening.
