Re ‘We Have Not Forgotten,’ May 25

Ari Noonan raised some very good points yesterday  in his op-ed piece about who killed Paul Bilodeau last Jan. 2 at the construction site of Fire Station No. 3 in Fox Hills.

Maybe the City Council should hire Mr. Noonan to head their Criminal Investigations Bureau if they want to solve this crime.

Or is anyone in City Hall really interested in solving this crime?

Let’s look at some of the facts:

The city has been building Fire Station No. 3 for the past 20 years. After several location changes, the building was underway.

Finally after all of these years, the city awards a contract, hires a company to oversee construction, this company assigns its best man to oversee the project, the project is underway and what happened next shocked the whole community.

Someone entered the city’s construction site at 8 in the evening and murdered the man the city hired to oversee this construction.

This is a city that boasts of its safe streets and low crime rates.

So what was their response to a city employee being murdered on city property?

They hired a security guard for the site to make sure no other city employees were murdered at this site.

After all how would that look?

What about a reward City Council?

What about going public and requesting the public’s help with new leads?

Evidence of robbery, burglary, or theft is usually evident in the first few hours of an investigation.

Evidence of domestic or personal issues or heat of passion, usually surface in the first 30 days.

It appears that none of these are the case.

That leaves one big motive out there that needs to be addressed:

 Financial gain.

Who would stand to gain financially by murdering Paul Bilodeau?

A good investigation would look into every aspect of the building of Culver City Fire Station No. 3, from the City Contract Bid Process to the delivery and installation of every piece of material at that job site and everyone one involved.

There seems to be a lot of interest at City Hall in completing the Fire Station project without further delay, but very little concern about who killed Paul Bilodeau and why?
