Re “Malsin: Looking for Vindication

It is telling that the opponents of Scott Malsin are trying to attack him for resigning and seeking a duly-elected new seat on the City Council in order to regain insurance benefits denied him by new rules passed while he was in office.

Scott's record on the City Council has been sterling. He has been a true asset to our city during tough times, often positioning himself between opposing forces to find much needed revenue for our city.

Scott has been a voice of reason, routinely facing down extremist slow-growth ideologues in order to maintain a slow-growth posture that benefits the city without changing our small town feel or enacting harmful new traffic patterns.

Scott is a champion of Culver City's values. He approaches his office with a personal touch without arrogance or an ideological bent. He is the type of pragmatist with unsurpassed knowledge and experience that this city needs to face the future. Again, it is telling that his opponents are able to write eight paragraphs without lodging a single substantive criticism of Scott Malsin's record in office. It's a smear campaign, and I feel duty-bound to lodge this simple retort. If you like the particular way that Culver City has grown in recent years despite economic challenges, then you should vote for Scott.

There is nothing underhanded or dishonest about how Scott Malsin has run this candidacy. He is asking for your vote and he has earned it on his record and his values. Please join me in helping to re-elect Scott Malsin to the City Council on Tuesday.
