Malsin’s Critics Are Being Disingenuous

I have just read very strange letter attacking former City Councilman Scott Malsin for taking advantage of a benefit package offered by the City of Culver City to all individuals who served on the City Council before him and who ended their tour of duty with this benefit package.

Is Mr. Malsin the first individual who received such a benefit?

The answer is a resounding “No.”

I believe that those who attack Mr. Malsin are disingenuous. If you disagree with the way Mr. Malsin served on the Council, attack him for that.

To attack him for taking advantage of a benefit package he was allowed under the law and rules that existed at the time he resigned, is an attack that lacks merit. Their criticism is based upon envy, a very corrosive and destructive urge that does not serve the best interests of the citizens of this community.
