I Was the First to Greet on Opening Day

Ah, the first day of school!

I was the first School Board candidate to greet parents and school kids at Farragut, Culver City Middle School, and Culver City High School yesterday morning.

I was holding a sign saying “Tax Oil Money for Our Schools” along with passing out over 200 fliers encouraging people to support Prop. 1481, the Tax on California Oil Revenues to Education Initiative statute.

Some observations:

I noticed how students who had not seen each other during the summer rushed to greet and hug their friends for the new school year.

It was interesting to note how the most enthusiastic, hopeful parents were found at Farragut Elementary School. They were all excited and were busily taking pictures of their children at their first day of school.

These parents want the best for their kids.

I want to make it the best for them by making Culver City the best school district in the state if I get elected.
