Re “ ‘Why Zeidman Pays Attention to What I Say’”
Two subjects are on my mind today:
Methinks this newspaper has a certain bias toward some of the School Board candidates.
Do you have a “tingling feeling” going up your leg when you talk about Mr. Zeidman?
Are you smitten with Ms. Chardiet in your glowing, radiant praise for her?
That's all well and done.
As long as you print Gary Abrams and letters from Mr. Z with our counter points I really can't complain.
On a separate matter:
Although Debbie Hamme did not endorse me, I must come to her defense with regards to Mr. Zeidman's calling her complaints about the horrid condition of our schools mere “propaganda”.
And what has Mr. Zeidman got to toot his horn over. For four years he's been sitting on $12 million in capital funds that could have been used to fix our schools.
It seems Mr. Zeidman's accomplishments are all talk. There is little follow-through.
We could have had a solar panel system in place over a year ago. We could have been well on our way to getting the Natatorium swimming pool refurbished, and ASthletoc Director Jerry Chabola should have had at least one of his fields in operation.
One note: Repairing a water fountain is a maintenance account expense. Replacing a water fountain that is eco-friendly and more efficient is a capital expense. I do agree with fellow candidate Nancy Goldberg that we should replace some of the non- functioning water fountains with eco- friendly ones.
